My Experience at the Woman’s Network Forum
Women’s Month is a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women in all spaces — from the home to the boardroom. This year, I had the privilege of leading a wellness experience at the Woman’s Network Forum at Vodacom, and it reminded me of something powerful: in the busyness of our lives, making time for our well-being isn’t just a luxury — it’s a necessity.

The day began under the open sky. Fresh air, warm sun, and the sounds of nature framed our gathering — a reminder that wellness is not just about movement, but about grounding ourselves in the world around us. Women from all parts of the organisation came together, dressed in smiles, ready to celebrate not only Women’s Month, but each other.
When it was time for our session, we formed a large circle on the grass — moving together in flow, breathing in unison, and sharing in a rhythm that felt ancient and deeply human. That circle was more than just an exercise formation. It was a living symbol of unity, of how we are connected to nature, and to each other. Every step, stretch, and breath reflected Vodacom’s “Further Together” spirit — a belief that when we support one another, we all rise.

In those moments, I could see shoulders drop, faces soften, and laughter ripple through the group. We weren’t just colleagues; we were women holding space for one another, honouring our shared humanity. It reminded me that in life — and in business — progress doesn’t have to be a solitary climb. We can move forward together, stronger and more connected.
So often, we pour our energy into work, family, and responsibilities, leaving little time to care for ourselves. But self-care isn’t selfish — it’s the foundation that allows us to keep showing up fully, for ourselves and for others. That morning, in the circle, we gave ourselves permission to slow down, to breathe deeply, and to remember that our well-being matters.

As we closed the session, feeling lighter, warmer, more connected. And I left with the reminder that these moments of pause are not just special occasion luxuries, but everyday necessities.
So here’s my invitation to you: block out time for your well-being, just as you would for a meeting or deadline. Because when we take care of ourselves, we have more to give — and together, we can go further than we ever could alone.
